Math can be a tricky topic that some students find difficult. The difficulty stem from the complexity of the material the students learn daily.
Teaching students different strategies can help relieve the stress they face in class, taking exams, or doing homework.
Here are two strategies that all parents can use with their kids!
Strategy #1
When students face anxiety, try not to raise your voice when speaking to your child. Use a low voice and ask your child what part of the problem they need help solving. Pushing students to explain where they need help is key to understanding their struggles.
Strategy #2
Students expect they need to understand all the math concepts. However, teaching students that it is okay if you do not understand everything. First, go over the material your child does understand. This method is a great way to provide your child with positive affirmations about what they can do. All students love to receive praise! Then follow through and go over the concept they need more help solving.
